Robert Bosch GmbH Selects Quickturn for Next-Generation In-Circuit Fault Emulation Projects
MUNICH, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 8, 2001--
Quickturn, a company of Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NYSE:CDN),
today announced that Robert Bosch GmbH selected its MercuryPlus
in-circuit emulation system as the platform for its next-generation
in-circuit fault emulation projects.
The semiconductor division at Robert Bosch GmbH will implement
MercuryPlus(TM) into its design environment immediately to ensure the
highest levels of quality and reliability of microelectronic
components in safety-critical automotive systems.
``When Robert Bosch started looking for a new platform to replace
outdated technology, we conducted an intensive evaluation of available
emulation systems on the market,'' said Peter van Staa, division
manager at Robert Bosch GmbH. ``We were looking for a partner to take
us into the development of our next-generation projects. In evaluating
the top emulation companies, Quickturn(TM)'s debugging environment
demonstrated significant productivity gains. The capacity of
MercuryPlus met all of our requirements. This capacity, along with
Quickturn's on-site support, will help us meet the very challenging
safety standards of the automotive industry.''
Robert Bosch GmbH is a world leading automotive supplier with a
broad spectrum of systems for active and passive vehicle safety,
including Airbags, Antilock Braking Systems (ABS), Traction Control
Systems (TCS) and Electronic Stability Programs (ESP).
``We worked closely with Robert Bosch to evaluate its process and
to understand the requirements of the automotive industry,'' said Ray
Turner, Quickturn product line manager for in-circuit emulation
products. ``The strengths of MercuryPlus -- including its unique
feature to set/force/release internal nodes without stopping the
system, the system's debug environment, and our onsite support --
mapped exactly to what the customer needs to be successful.''
``We are pleased to have Robert Bosch as a customer. The company is
a world class supplier of safety-critical systems, and this marks
Quickturn's entry into the automotive market,'' said Chris Tice, senior
vice president and general manager of Quickturn. ``We look forward to
enabling the success of Robert Bosch in developing state-of-the-art
fault-injection algorithms and methodologies in the automotive
supplier industry.''
